Linxdatacenter confirms PCI DSS version 3.2 certification
Linxdatacenter, an international expert in the field of hi-tech colocation, cloud and connectivity solutions, has confirmed PCI DSS version 3.2 certification for its datacenter in Saint Petersburg.
PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) has been developed by PCI Security Standards Council, which unites world leaders in the payment cards market, such as American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa International. The standard serves to ensure safety of processing, storage and transfer of data on card holders in the information systems of companies working with international payment systems Visa, MasterCard and others.
Compliance with PCI DSS has become obligatory in Russia since 2007. Thus companies processing and storing data on card holders and working with payment systems must undergo annual certification for compliance with PCI DSS requirements. This certification is not obligatory for datacenters but important for financial companies using DC services, as it signifies reliability of the datacenter in the aspect of information security including physical security.
Certification audit has been carried out by Digital Security, a company providing such services in Russia and the CIS countries since 2007 and having the status of PCI QSA. Certification process has consisted of two stages. The first stage included analysis and systematization of DC security systems’ description, analysis of regulatory documents and instructions, analysis of the network topology, software and hardware and other actions according to the methodology. The second stage consisted of certification audit and report preparation.
"We work on perfecting reliability and information security of our datacenter systematically. PSS DCI certification is an independent expert confirmation of DC’s compliance with the world security standards. We hope that our customers in the financial sector will appreciate the wide range of services offered by our datacenter and will be able to minimize their risks working with a certified DC," says Taras Chirkov, DC Manager at Linxdatacenter Saint Petersburg.
